What is Reflexology?
Reflexology is an ancient complementary therapy that has been practiced for over 5000 years. The theory of Reflexology is that different points on the feet, hands, face and ears correspond with different areas of the body.
Reflexologists believe that working on the reflex points will aid relaxation and improve general wellbeing.
What to expect during the treatment
When you first arrive for a treatment, the therapist will go through an in depth consultation with you, during which they will ask about your current health status and your medical history.
From this you will be asked to remove your shoes and socks, - if you are having treatment on your feet and asked to get comfortable on the treatment couch.
The treatment will begin with relaxation techniques and then work through all the bodies systems, paying extra attention to your specific needs.
A Reflexology session generally lasts for 50 minutes, but we allow for 60 minutes.
How can Reflexology help you?
Reflexology can help many ailments including:
- Chronic fatigue conditions
- Muscle aches & pains
- Nerve pains
- Digestive Issues
- Hormonal Imbalances
Reflexology acknowledges that every person is a unique individual: it is not possible to know in advance how you will react to a treatment. However, after a treatment, people often do feel very relaxed, may sleep better and notice a feeling of improved mood and general wellbeing. You may find that other things improve too, but this happens on a very individual basis.
As holistic practitioners; reflexologists are there to support you as a whole person and promote your wellbeing. Therefore, reflexologists do not diagnose, prescribe or cure.
